Whether the Sea Mercy program is health care, disaster, or economic related, every program is connected directly to the need of either a vessel owner who was willing to 'sail with a greater purpose' or someone who provided us with the resources to do so on their behalf. Here are a few ways you can participate in this incredible South Pacific mission.
The amount of personal involvement you would like to have in any Sea Mercy program is often based around one or more of the following criteria:
Available Time, Passion, Income and Age
We have programs that allow our members to adjust their type of support according to those criteria.
Seeing the joy and happiness of an owner/captain participating in our programs is our favorite vessel option. Whether you're delivering health care or economic development teams to serve remote communities, or carrying aid to a devastated island following a natural disaster, we have a program for you to use your skills and talents.
If your passion is to serve, but your available sailing time has become limited, instead of leaving your vessel sitting on the hard or gathering barnacles in a slip, lets work together to find the perfect captain and crew so she can join the best Sea Mercy program based on your desires and her capabilities. We can discuss loaning her, leasing her, and other creative options that could work for all parties.
Sometimes we find a benevolent heart that is more interested in seeing their vessel used in a powerful way than the need to have their financial investment in it returned to them. Or perhaps an upcoming repair cost and time is something you would prefer we handle. If you find yourself in either position, give us a call. Sea Mercy* will make your vessel (and you) legendary in the South Pacific.
* We are also a US based 501(c)3 charity
Sea Mercy programs are not about luxury sailing, but providing a capable, durable and safe service delivery platform to get the job done. There are many incredible vessels on the private and agent market that with a little money down and some love and care (lol, more money) could be upgraded to be a Sea Mercy workhorse vessel in the South Pacific for years to come.
Whether a little or a lot, please consider donating (or a pledge) to our Dedicated Vessel Fund (held separately in reserve) so that we can act when the right vessel comes along.
Thank you for contacting Sea Mercy regarding Vessel Program Opportunities. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
