Matson Foundation - Disaster Relief Donation to Sea Mercy

Thank you Matson Foundation!

Matson has been a wonderful partner and supporter of Sea Mercy and our programs in the South Pacific (see below). We are so grateful for their kind donation to support our Disaster Relief efforts in Vanuatu and for continued support and belief in our organization and volunteers and in other organizations they support across the South Pacific.

Dear Mr. Hackett:

Since our founding in 1882, Matson has supported the needs of the communities we serve in which our employees live and work. In 2012, we became an independent, publicly traded, HAwaii-headquartered corporation and established its scope of charitable giving program as the Matson Foundation. Matson has extended its scope of service as Matson South Pacific, serving the Solomon and Cook Islands, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, and other nearby Island nations, in addition to our legacy service in the Pacific connecting Hawaii, Guam, the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.

On behalf of the Matson Foundation, we are pleased to make a second donation to support disaster relief for Sea Mercy medical response operations in Vanuatu following Cyclone Pam in March 2015. Our donation check in the amount of $2,500 is enclosed.

We extend our appreciation to you and your fellow volunteers, medical professionals, and offer best wishes for your continued service to the people of Vanuatu and the South Pacific region.
